Britney Spears temporarily loses access rights to sons
Britney Spears‘ visitation sessions with her two sons have been temporarily suspended following the incident at her Beverly Hills home last night.
Britney refused to hand over custody of younger son Jayden after her court-monitored visit with the 15 month old boy and his older brother Sean yesterday afternoon. She was eventually taken to hospital for a mental evaluation after police intervened to impose the court order returning custody to Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Kevin attended an emergency hearing at the Los Angeles Superior Court this afternoon and after a 40 minute session, he was “awarded sole legal custody and sole physical custody of the minor children”.
Britney’s “visitation with the minor children is suspended pending further order of the court”, with the order in effect until at least the 14th January.
Britney and Kevin shared joint physical and legal custody of the two boys until October when Britney’s access was reduced to just two monitored visits a week, later including an overnight stay.
After today’s hearing, Kevin’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan said he was “not happy about any of the events that have happened” and “there are no winners here”.
Britney is expected to remain in hospital under mental evaluation over the weekend.
