Chelsy Davy is reportedly trapped in Kenya after the country’s riots have spread to the resort where she is staying.

Chelsy, the girlfriend of Prince Harry, had been holidaying with her brother Shaun and a group of friends in Malindi on the east coast when riots broke out around the country following the result of presidential elections at the end of last month. Tourists and foreign nationals are being advised to stay indoors and follow local advice as the situation develops.

A source told the News of the World that Chelsy’s party have been advised against leaving their luxury apartments, even to travel to the local airport to board a connecting flight out of the country. The source, a friend of Chelsy’s from the University of Leeds, explained: “We were expecting her back over the weekend but she’s had to change her plans because of the troubles.”

“There’s been some violence and unrest where she’s staying and it’s seen as a risk getting to the airport in Malindi by road.”

“She also doesn’t know what would await her in Nairobi if she flew there. So she’s trying to work out the best way to get back. But at the moment she is effectively stranded.”

Chelsy was due back in Leeds to prepare for her end of semester exams which are set to take place over the next two weeks.
