Amy Winehouse to be cleared of all involvement in trial fixing plot?
Amy Winehouse is reportedly set to be cleared of any involvement in her husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s alleged trial fixing case.
Blake and another man are said to have paid off the key witness (and victim) in their GBH trial by offering him £200,000 to leave the country until the trial - which had been scheduled to take place in November - was abandoned. Amy was formally arrested and questioned about the case last month then bailed to return to the east London police station in March pending further police investigation.
However, according to the News of the World, Amy is set to be cleared of all charges after DNA tests and analysis of Amy’s computer and financial records failed to provide any conclusive evidence linking her to the plot.
A Crown Prosecution Service source told the newspaper: “The evidence-building is purely circumstantial at this stage and is not enough to charge Amy with anything.”
“If she did give money to her husband, this is not a criminal offence and is not enough to prove she was involved in a conspiracy. Unless new evidence comes to light it is likely the case against her will be dropped.”
