Westlife’s Kian Egan proposes to former Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert
Westlife star Kian Egan has proposed to girlfriend former Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert after doing exactly what he said he wouldn’t do.
In early December, Kian explained that he couldn’t follow in bandmate Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan’s footsteps by popping the question on Christmas day because he had “different plans” - then did exactly that.
A source close to the couple told the Mirror that his comment was just a diversionary tactic: “He didn’t want to give any clues as to when he’d propose and it was a complete bolt out of the blue for Jodi. They’re so happy.”
Kian added: “I’m over the moon that Jodi said yes and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her.”

I think it’s lame actually. I mean, both Nicky and Shane proposed on Christmas, and so do (literally) thousands of other guys who aren’t original. Congrats to them and all, but come on, proposing at Christmas? Who DOESN’T see that coming!?!?

I always thought he was gay so him proposing to anyone is a surprise to me but then I’m not a fan of Westlife but good luck to them, no doubt there will be some OK or Hello deal in the offing!

Congratulations to them. They make a beautiful couple and they deserve all the happiness in the world. As far as I’m concerned, Kian TRICKED the media by saying he wasn’t gonna do one thing only to do EXACTLY that one thing he said he wouldn’t do. Smart on Kian, and not to mention, for Jodi it would have thrown her off to because with Kian saying he wouldn’t do it on Christmas it would be the LAST thing she expected.
