Richard BaconBBC Radio Five Live presenter is reportedly set to marry his girlfriend Rebecca McFarlane later this month.

The couple are said to be planning to walk down the aisle at Babington House in Somerset on 17th January after meeting in 2006.

A friend of the couple’s explained the pair are not holding back when it comes to their wedding celebrations: “It’s going to be a big bash.”

But Richard might not actually be able to say his vows: he’s revealed he’s got a non-cancerous growth on his vocal chords and needs to have it removed.

He told listeners yesterday: “Apparently [polyps] are quite common. Mine is quite an acute one, hence why I think I have to have this operation.”

“I’ll be off work for four weeks and for the first two weeks I won’t be able to speak - not a word. It couldn’t sound more deathly boring.”
