Amelle BerrabahSugababes star Amelle Berrabah was arrested yesterday after allegedly attacking a woman’s car.

Amelle was visiting her sister Laila’s home in Aldershot, Hampshire, when she is said to have started hitting a neighbour’s car.

A source told the Mirror: “There’s been needle between the two families and on Thursday, it hit boiling point.”

“There was shouting and a girl called police, who got there about 10.45am. Amelle was shaking as officers carted her off.”

Local police confirm that a “23 year old woman from London was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and public order offences. She has been bailed to appear at Aldershot police station on February 21.”

A second source close to the girl band added: “Amelle is under a lot of stress at the moment with [boyfriend Freddie Fuller] in hospital after his attack and with work - after their Christmas single failed to really make an impression, they’ve been told they have to go all out promoting their next one [’Denial’, due out next month]. It must have all got too much for her and she just snapped.”

The incident marks Amelle’s second arrest in less than a year: in April 2007, she was arrested after an assault in a nightclub but the charges were not followed through.
