Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman have welcomed their new son into the world this weekend.

Initial rumours suggested Christina had given birth on Friday, just hours after Nicole Richie gave birth to her baby girl but a spokesperson for the couple has said while the two stars both gave birth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Max Liron Bratman didn’t make his debut until around 10pm (local time) last night.

The spokesperson told People magazine: “Christina and Jordan are proud to announce the birth of their son Max Liron Bratman. He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Mom is resting and doing well.”

Max, a first child for both Christina and Jordan, weighed in at 6lbs 2oz and was 20.5 inches in length.

The couple were first rumoured to be expecting a child in June last year after they were spotted visiting a medical facility in New York but they didn’t confirm the pregnancy until November by which point the star was around six months along. A blue-themed baby shower later that month suggested she knew she was expecting a little boy and sources close to the couple revealed she nicknamed her bump “little Jordan” after her husband.
