Alesha Dixon’s plans to reunite with estranged father

Strictly Come Dancing winner Alesha Dixon has revealed she’s planning to meet up with her estranged dad for the first time in years.

Melvin Dixon left Alesha’s mum when the star was just four years old and the former Mis-Teeq star has seen in infrequently since then, especially after he emigrated to Thailand a decade ago.

Alesha told the People newspaper that she’s decided enough time has been wasted and she is keen to rebuild their relationship: “I’m going to go and see my dad later this month. We’re going to have four days together - it’s an ideal opportunity because I am going to Japan for work so it’s on the way.”

“My dad moved to Thailand, I didn’t want him to but he loves the country so he left anyway and he has been there ever since.”

“I hope that we get close, there is nothing more important to me than my friends and family.”
