Britney Spears sung own hits to herself in hotel bar
Britney Spears might have only spent seven hours in Mexico last week but she is said to have still had time to disturb hotel staff and trash her room.
After switching planes to throw off following photographers, Britney and boyfling Adnan Ghalib travelled down to Baja California and checked into the Rosarito Beach Hotel on Wednesday afternoon. The couple were spotted shopping for souvenirs before returning to the hotel.
Hotel manager Gustavo Lopez told the Sun that Britney then headed to the hotel bar by herself: “The hotel is virtually deserted at this time of year and Britney was all alone in the bar singing to herself. I don’t think she knew where she was.”
“One of our waitresses … heard her mumbling the words to [hit single] ‘Toxic’ in a very low voice. It was a strange thing to do and my waitress said she looked out of it.”
“My barman said she looked like she was on drugs and was slurring her words. When I first saw her check in, she looked like she was drunk.”
Britney later returned to her $200-a-night suite for a few hours before checking out around 10pm. Lopez added that when his staff went into the room to clean, they were amazed at the state of the room: “The maid told me she’d never seen anything like it. There was rubbish everywhere - it looked like a bomb hit it.”
After returning to Britney’s Beverly Hills home that evening, the star and the British-born photographer are said to have been inseparable but Britney is expected to leave him at home when she attends a crucial custody court hearing today.
Unless she appears in person at the court today, Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon is likely to extend her current temporary visitation ban, meaning she would not be allowed to see her sons until at least the custody trial in April.
Kevin Federline’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan added: “You can’t phone this one in. She will have … to persuade the court that she can have some visitation.”
But Britney may have problems getting to the court house: the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department have helped the star avoid the gathered media on the way to the court for previous appearances but her “totally uncooperative” behaviour has reportedly annoyed officials. Police sources told TMZ that she had refused to give the department any information about times or locations where she will require assistance for today’s hearing and has shown them disrespect during previous encounters.
