Gwyneth PaltrowGwyneth Paltrow has returned to her New York home after an overnight hospital stay for an undisclosed condition.

Gwyneth was admitted to the city’s Mount Sinai Hospital on Monday afternoon and onlookers report that she was slumped in a wheelchair being pushed by husband Chris Martin.

One eyewitness commented that “she didn’t look well at all” while another told the New York Daily News: “They looked very serious. She looked upset. They went right past everyone and into the elevator. It seemed like they were expected.”

Sources claim that, specifically, the couple entered the hospital’s maternity wing, the Klingenstein Pavilion, prompting rumours that she is, or was, pregnant with the couple’s third child.

Gwyneth’s spokesperson Stephen Huvane confirmed the brief hospital stay yesterday afternoon, by which point the Shakespeare in Love star had returned home. Huvane refused to discuss the reason for the hospital visit, saying it was a “personal matter, not for public consumption”.
