Lionel Richie not used to being a granddad yet

Lionel Richie has said he’s not quite used to the fact he’s a granddad after daughter Nicole Richie gave birth last week.

Nicole and fiance Joel Madden welcomed their own daughter, Harlow, into the world last Friday and took her home to meet the family over the weekend.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Lionel said: “While it may take me a moment to adjust to being called grand dad, I am extremely happy and proud of Nicole and Joel.”

“Harlow Winter Kate Madden, the newest and most beautiful addition to the Richie clan, is a lucky little girl,” he added. “She was surrounded by a great deal of love at that hospital as she entered the world. Nicole and Joel are going to be wonderful parents.”

Nicole and Lionel’s relationship has been problematic in the past but Nicole revealed recently that her pregnancy inspired her to make amends once and for all with her famous father.
