Kiefer SutherlandKiefer Sutherland will be released from prison on Monday morning after completing the whole of his 48 day jail sentence for drink-driving.

Unlike many of his celebrity counterparts who are released earlier - sometimes after barely an hour inside - for good behaviour, the 24 star served the entirety of his sentence at the Glendale City Jail, spending both his 41st birthday and Christmas inside.

Officer John Balian, a spokesperson for the jail, yesterday confirmed Kiefer’s pending release, saying: “He’ll be let out the front door jhhhust like everyone else, I have no idea who’ll be picking him up.”

He added: “He’s not happy to be here, but you can tell from his demeanour that he’s sorry and takes responsibility for what he’s done.”

“Throughout his stay, he never griped, never complained. He never wanted preferential treatment from the get go, and we respect him for that.”

Kiefer requested no visitors other than his attorney during his stay, made few phone calls and chose to have little contact with his fellow inmates. He has spent his days working on laundry duty and helping in the facility’s canteen before returning to his 8×10ft cell.
