Britney Spears sits for 2 hours of deposition hearing
After at least three failed starts, Britney Spears finally submitted herself for deposition yesterday as part of her ongoing custody case.
Kevin Federline’s legal team are said to have been trying to question the star on record for around a year but she refused to attend scheduled sessions last month and at the start of this month, citing medical reasons. She eventually sat for 14 minutes of questioning on 3rd January, just hours before her four-hour stand-off with police at her Beverly Hills home.
She was accompanied to yesterday’s session by friend and advisor Sam Lufti and spent more than two hours at Kevin’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan’s office. She is thought to have been questioned about her past & present drug and alcohol use, her apparent failure to adhere to court orders and other issues related to her ability to care for her sons, Sean and Jayden.
According to eyewitness, she “looked furious” as she left the office around 1.20pm local time and immediately drove back to her gated community home. Onlookers report that she asked photographers to get out of her way in her increasingly common “British” accent.
An inside source told OK magazine that the questioning got off to a good start and the remaining four hours will “most likely be split up into several smaller depositions between now and April 9th [because] she simply can’t sit still”.
Britney’s visitation sessions with her sons are currently suspended after her brief hospitalisation earlier this month. She is expected to fight to regain joint custody of the boys at the custody trial in April.
