Pete DohertyPete Doherty has claimed he’s “off the drugs” and insists there is a huge difference between his image in the media and the real him.

He told Spin magazine recently that despite initial slip-ups shortly after leaving rehab in October: “Obviously I’m off the drugs now.”

He added his public image is “nothing more than a horrible, cartoon-like monster that bears no relation to the quiet, shy, retiring, teetotal, police-loving, clean-nosed poet you see before you now”.

Pete is currently working on his first solo album, due for release this summer.
