Gwyneth PaltrowGwyneth Paltrow has said she’s going to stay away from her native USA as much as possible after a recent run-in with photographers in New York.

Gwyneth and husband Chris Martin are said to have been swamped by the paparazzi as they entered the city’s Mount Sinai hospital last week and the Coldplay frontman was snapped grabbing and shoving a particularly over-zealous lensman.

A source close to Gwyneth has told the Chicago Sun Times that the incident was the final straw for the Shakespeare in Love actress: “Gwyneth was truly frightened by the intensity of the whole thing. She was feeling fragile at the moment and didn’t need to face that.”

She now plans to spend more of her time at her family’s home in London and only “cross the pond [if] I absolutely have to for work”.

According to her friend Mario Batali, Gwyneth was treated for a “little gastrointestinal situation” at the hospital before being released.
