Anna FrielAnna Friel has revealed she’s hired a nanny from the north of England so her daughter Gracie will pick up the accent rather than a Californian twang.

The former Brookside actress is now starring as Chuck in the new US series Pushing Daisies but despite being based in Los Angeles with husband David Thewlis, she wants Gracie to remember her English heritage.

Anna, originally from Rochdale, said recently: “I know my roots and where I’m from - I’m northern and I always will be. Now Gracie’s talking with northern mannerisms.”

“She’s like, ‘Eh up, Mummy doesn’t like it like that, Mummy likes things neat in’t trailer’. She’s adorable.”
