Adele AdkinsAdele Adkins has revealed she was once suspended from school for fighting over Pop Idol.

The new British soul singer is currently at number 2 in the UK charts with her second single ‘Chasing Pavements’ but it wasn’t long ago that she was just a pop-star obsessed school girl.

Adele, who attended the BRIT performing arts school in south London, told the Sunday Mirror recently: “Will Young was my first proper love. I was obsessed.”

“The Gareth Gates fans were horrible to me and I wasn’t having any of it. We had a fight and I was called into the head teacher’s office and sent home. It was serious.”

“It was so embarrassing when [eventually] I met Will. I’ve loved him since I was 14, and the first thing that came out my mouth was, ‘I voted for you 5,000 times!’”

But now the single star has her heart set elsewhere: “If I could date anybody it would be Zac Efron from High School Musical. I also love Sex and the City Carrie’s boyfriend Jack Berger.”
