Leona LewisX Factor star Leona Lewis is reportedly on the verge of splitting up with long-term boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa because he can’t deal with her newfound fame.

Leona won the talent show in December 2006 and both her singles, and her debut album ‘Spirit’, have hit number 1 in the UK charts. She has been nominated for four Brit Awards, including Best British Female Solo Artist and Best Single, and is said to be planning a large-scale assault on the US later this year.

But a source told the People newspaper that her boyfriend Lou couldn’t handle being surrounded by fans while the couple holidayed in the Caribbean recently.

An onlooker at the £2500-a-week Galley Bay resort in Antigua told the newspaper: “She was smiley and polite but her boyfriend was looking more and more cross.”

The final straw came when one fan wanted the singer to move for a photo, so that Leona was stood in front of a picturesque view of the beach: “Leona consented but that was the final nail in the coffin for her boyfriend. He stomped out, extremely annoyed. Leona looked distraught and followed him a few minutes later.”

A source close to Leona added that the couple’s four year relationship is now almost at breaking point: “Leona’s career has been a fairytale but Lou is clearly struggling to cope.”
