Britney Spears’ parents say Lufti is evil; he says they’re jealous
Britney Spears‘ friend and supposed manager Sam Lufti has criticised Britney’s parents for attempting to “barge” back into their daughter’s life.
Sources close to the family claim Jamie and Lynne Spears hoped to stage an intervention yesterday to encourage the singer to seek medical treatment for her “mental issues” but kept Sam in the dark about their plans as they consider him a “megalomaniac” motivated by “evil”.
Britney has been somewhat estranged from her mum Lynne for almost a year after she felt her parents “pushed” her into rehab last February and sources report that relations between the two women are still tense. Britney, Sam and Lynne were spotted at a Mercedes Benz dealership yesterday morning as Britney was finalising the purchase of a new $55,000 car but the trip was fraught.
An onlooker told People magazine: “Lynne and Britney were arguing in the car the whole time [on the way there]. They’re both upset and arguing, not having a good time at all.”
“[And on the way home] she pulled over to the side of the road to argue with her mom more.”
Lynne had arrived in Los Angeles over the weekend to try to reconcile with Britney but Sam told TMZ yesterday that her parents no longer understand what is best for the star: “They have an agenda. Their agenda is jealously because they don’t fit in. I do. They see her three times a year.”
However Spears’ family sources claim Sam has his own agenda which involves keep in the star in her current troubled state and he suggested the car buying trip to distract Britney from her mum’s efforts.
Lynne told Life & Style magazine: “Britney’s on my mind day and night. She never leaves my thoughts. I love Britney dearly. I want nothing more than to protect her and make everything all right for her.”
In related news, Britney is reportedly planning to request to reinstated her access to her sons at a court hearing next week.
According to OK magazine, Britney’s legal team are preparing to ask for some very limited visitation privileges to be reinstated after Court Commissioner Scott Gordon recently granted permission for Britney to speak to the boys over the phone.
An inside source told the magazine that Britney realises that she’ll have to fight her own case to be allowed to see the boys again: “The only way she’s going to see her kids anytime soon is if she stands right in front of that judge and proves that she’s not as crazy as she’s been made out to be. Perhaps that would explain her recent attempts to reconciliation with her mother.”
