Britney Spears in hospital on psychiatric hold again
Britney Spears has been hospitalised and put on a psychiatric hold for the second time in less a month after medics deemed she was a danger to herself or others.
Reports claim the plan was originally supposed to take place last night but was postponed at the last minute and eventually took place around 1am (local time).
Sources claim the star has been seeing a new psychiatrist this week but after daily sessions at Britney’s Beverly Hills home and observing a marked downturn in her behaviour, the doctor determined that she should be hospitalised to receive treatment for bipolar disorder. Britney is said to have been taking medication to treat the condition but it has either not been working or she has not been taking it as prescribed, and between use of prescription drugs and energy drinks, she has not slept since Saturday.
Police and medical services coordinated their actions to ensure Britney was taken to hospital with maximum efficiency, with Britney being referred to as “The Package” in coded radio conversations. Britney is said to have asked “is something wrong?” when told that an ambulance was on the way to pick her up then waited quietly for the vehicle to arrive. Her mum Lynne Spears and friend Sam Lufti waited with her but squabbled between themselves, causing Britney to eventually tell them to “shut the hell up”, saying “I’ll do what I need to do.”
Lynne drove to the hospital with Britney’s boyfling - and Sam’s nemesis - Adnan Ghalib and was met at UCLA Medical Center by Britney’s dad Jamie Spears where new tensions cropped up between the family and Lufti. After her earlier hospitalisation, Britney’s lawyers are said to have started drafting paperwork to give Sam, not her parents, power to make medical decisions on Britney’s behalf but with nothing yet officially signed, her dad Jamie Spears was reportedly angry when doctors looked to Sam for authority. Britney herself is said to be calm and cooperating with doctors.
She is initially being held on a 72-hour “5150″ hold but can not be forced to take medication during that time. However if she refuses, doctors are likely to go to court to ask for her to be held for another 14 days, during which time medication could be properly administered.
UPDATE: UCLA doctors are now said to be “fully cooperating” with Britney’s parents rather than Sam Lufti after a judge signed officially signed the order keeping Britney on the hold for three days. A power of attorney order has yet to be finalised but Sam is said to have left the hospital.

Be advised that Britney Spears home is in the Studio City district of the City of Los Angeles — NOT Beverly Hills. BH is an independent city with its own police, etc. Studio City, as part of the City of Los Angeles, is NOT Beverly Hills.
In the interest of accuracy, please correct your locator.
Thank you.
