Amy WinehouseAmy Winehouse has been hospitalised to receive treatment for dehydration during her efforts to beat her drug addiction.

Amy has been at the Capio Nightingale hospital in central London for the last week but was admitted to a private Harley Street clinic, the London clinic, on Wednesday night and placed on a drip.

A source told the Sun: “Amy was looking very pale and thin. She looked ropey and exhausted.”

Her spokesperson yesterday confirmed the move but said it was standard procedure: “It was all normal and routine and part of Amy’s ongoing treatment.”

“She went on a drip to rehydrate, which is a good thing - it means she is getting through her recovery.”

“Amy went to the clinic because the hospital doesn’t have the facilities.”

Amy’s dad Mitch Winehouse added that Amy is “making progress but will be in rehab for a long time.”

A source told the Mirror that in addition to Marilyn Monroe films, Amy is passing the time snacking - asking a security guard to fetch her sweets and ice lollies from a nearby shop each day - and playing the guitar: “Amy was worried she’ll be really bored inside so took her guitar in with her to bide her time.”

“There’s no doubt that the experience has had an astonishing effect on her creative output.”

“She’s been playing so much that a few people have been asking her to teach them a few chords - and she’s happily obliged.”
