Britney Spears: lawyers to challenge dad’s control order

Britney Spears‘ legal team have asked for an emergency court hearing today to challenge Friday’s decision to award control of Britney’s assets and medical care to her dad Jamie Spears.

Britney is said to have reacted angrily when finding out that Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet had been named co-conservators at the hearing and lashed out again when a lawyer from her legal team at Trope and Trope was asked to leave the hospital during a visit on Saturday because the co-conservators objected to the visit.

An inside source told TMZ that the lawyers will argue that Britney “feels hatred” towards Jamie and doesn’t trust him to act in her well-being: they are not opposed a conservatorship for Britney in principle but object to the individuals chosen.

However, a source told People magazine that the current co-conservators may have been granted the authority to fire Britney’s legal counsel if they do not feel they’re working in her best interest. There is also debate about the validity of Britney’s hatred towards her father as her alleged bipolar condition may cause her to express extreme emotions at one point and the opposite when her mood shifts.

A source explained: “Britney isn’t in a position to make this decision and won’t be until her moods are stablised through a programme of treatment. And if she’s been too mentally unstable to look after herself, how can you trust the people she hired to represent her or who befriended during that time? Her judgement was so off, she didn’t know what she was doing from one minute to the next.”

Britney’s friend/advisor Sam Lufti told Us Weekly magazine that there is another reason why Jamie Spears shouldn’t have control over Britney’s care: “her family is crazy!”

He explained: “It’s funny because that’s what the doctors say when they meet the family. They always come back and say, ‘You know, [her problems] are inherited, right?’”

“It’s just so sad. It’s shared equally from both of her parents.”

“[I told Britney] ‘Britney, do you see why people think you are crazy? Look at your mother and look at your father.’”

Sam also claimed that Britney has been suffering from a “mixed state bipolar” disorder (where the person suffers from both mania and depression at the same time) for “roughly five years”.
