Ashlee SimpsonAshlee Simpson insists that people have the wrong idea about her dad Joe Simpson.

Joe, a former Baptist minister, is the manager of both Ashlee and her older sister Jessica Simpson and has a reputation of being a somewhat pushy parent, in terms of the women’s careers and love lives.

But Ashlee told The Daily 10 recently: “People really have the wrong idea about him.”

“He’s so awesome. I’m lucky because he truly does care about me, and some people would be after money or this or that [but he isn’t].”

“He’s actually one of my really good friends [too].”
