Amy Winehouse’s husband begs her not to leave him
In a U-turn move, Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil has reportedly begged the star not to divorce him after his mum’s attacks on the Winehouse family.
Currently imprisoned Blake had previously been rumoured to have threatened Amy with a divorce unless she started treatment to beat her drug problems but now she’s in rehab, he’s said to be worried she might dump him.
In a letter from husband to wife, released to the News of the World by Amy through her dad Mitch Winehouse, Blake wrote: “Baby, oh darling. Please don’t leave me Amy. I’m so worried that now you’re thinking straight you’ll realise I’m not worthy of you. Oh God, please don’t leave me. I’ll do anything to show you my heart and loyalty is with you.”
Blake also seems to blame his parents for miscommunication and said he is livid that his mum Georgette publicly criticised Amy and Mitch, who was dubbed “the Fat Controller”: “Me and my family are finished for good. No visits, phone calls, nothing.”
“I love my new family and can’t wait to show them I’m not just a f****** loser and that I can look after their daughter. That’s if you can find it in your heart to trust me.”
“You[’re] my family now, if you’ll all have me. Pls don’t leave me Amy, Pls. I love you so much, Blake xxx.”
Amy is nominated for six awards at this evening’s Grammy Awards and is set to perform at the ceremony - but via satellite from London. US Embassy officials initially refused Amy the required work visa to travel to Los Angeles and perform at the ceremony but then decided to grant her the permit on Friday. However due to “the logistics involved and timing complications”, her spokesperson explained that Amy would not be able to make the journey so will perform via the link-up as previously arranged.
After two weeks in rehab at the Capio Nightingale hospital in north London, Amy left the facility on Friday to prepare for the performance but according to her spokesperson, she “will remain under full medical supervision and her treatment will continue as normal”. Amy’s preparations included a trip to the dentist to have a tooth inserted in her infamous gappy smile and she playfully showed off her new dental profile to photographers waiting outside the clinic.
A source close to the singer explained: “Her detoxing has been tough, really tough, but she’s through the worst of it now. She’s physically a lot healthier than she’s been in a long time and that’s making her feel happier too. She just now needs to work on staying clean and positive about life.”
