Grey’s Anatomy’s Eric Dane denies cancer reports
Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane has denied reports that he’s suffering from skin cancer.
OK magazine claimed the actor, who plays Dr Mark “McSteamy” Sloan in the show, was diagnosed with the disease after he had some malignant cells frozen off his lip with liquid nitrogen in a doctor’s office recently.
Eric was quoted as saying: “I went to my dermatologist. He said it was malignant tissue caused by sun damage. My skin is very sensitive and my lip was traumatized by the procedure I had to go through.”
He admits he “didn’t eat very well for a couple of weeks and lost a bunch of weight” but his spokesperson insists: “Eric Dane does not have cancer. He spoke with OK! to clear up some inaccuracies they were planning to run. His story certainly does not compare with those actually suffering from the disease.”
A source added that he is “mortified” at the report: “Never in a million years would he have expected they would exploit his story. He’s considering legal action.”
