Lindsay Lohan’s Marilyn Monroe shoot

Lindsay Lohan has recreated Marilyn Monroe’s final photo shoot in a feature for New York magazine.

Photographer Bert Stern photographed Marilyn for Vogue magazine at the Hotel Bel-Air in California in 1962, just six weeks before the icon died from an overdose of barbiturates.

Even though the shoot meant she had to pose nude with just scarves and jewellery as her accessories, Lindsay said she jumped at the chance to do it: “I didn’t have to put much thought into it. I mean, Bert Stern? Doing a Marilyn shoot? When is that ever going to come up? It’s really an honor.”

While she’s “comfortable” with the nudity, she did admit to doing “250 crunches” the night before the session earlier this month. Stern added: “I thought she was a natural, not at all squeamish.”

But Lindsay has no plans to follow any further in Marilyn’s tragic footsteps. She drew parallels between Marilyn’s death and that of Heath Ledger last month:

“They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone.”

The starlet, who completed three rehab treatment programmes last year, added: “But I’m not them. I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me.”
