KT TunstallKT Tunstall has said she doesn’t know what she’ll do with her Brit Award if she wins the Best Female trophy at tonight’s award show.

She explained recently: “I might put it in the toilet as a bog roll holder to remind people I won.”

“I’ve got the other one [the Best Female award from 2006], the Ivor Novello and the Q awards all on top of the subwoofer in the living room. I can’t really have them out on show - it makes me feel like a bit of a w*****.”

“They are kind of hidden away under stuff - you can’t see them.”

“I can’t imagine ever saying to someone, ‘So what do you think of my fantastic solo career? Oh look there are all my awards’.”

She added that it was quite a surprise to get this year’s nomination - but a pleasant surprise: “I wouldn’t have been at all put out if they hadn’t have given me the nomination and I was just really grateful they did. It was a great boost.”

But she hopes Bat for Lashes’ Natasha Khan will get the the actual award: “I really like Bat For Lashes - I’d be delighted to see her take Best female.”

“I really like that album a lot and I think you can tell that she really loves what she does.”
