AdeleSoul singer Adele has said it’s “very weird” to have been awarded a Brit Award so early in her career.

Adele is the first ever winner of the newly created Critics’ Choice award, designed to reward the artist most likely to succeed over the next year. Adele won the award after the chart success of her single ‘Chasing Pavements’ and debut album ‘19′ earlier this month.

She told the Sun recently: “It’s very weird to be rewarded for something when you haven’t actually done it yet. But it’s very flattering and I’ve always wanted a Brit award.”

“I’m s****ing myself about it. I don’t want to give a really boring speech where you just name loads of people, because that’s just rubbish. But I also need to name the people who have supported me from day one.”

“I’m so worried I’ll forget a really important person, I’ll probably forget my mum or something.”

“I’m scared about the walk up as well, I might fall over. Then I’m worried that I’ll swear and all anyone at home will hear is birds tweeting, like when the people in the Big Brother house talk about something they’re not allowed to.”

“I’m performing too, so I’m really worried that I’ll forget the words.”

“But then I’m going to get very drunk, go to a couple of parties, go home and probably cry. I get really emotional when I’m drunk.”
