Britney SpearDespite Kevin Federline’s desire for his sons to see their mum, a court has ruled that Britney Spears is still not allowed access to her children.

Lawyers for Britney and Kevin attended a closed hearing at the Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday to discuss reinstating limited visitation rights for the singer. But even though her lawyers called for court-monitored meetings in a “therapeutic setting”, the parties could not reach an agreement regarding the arrangements.

Court Commissioner Scott Gordon though ruled against a request to make the details of the future proceedings private, saying that the public “has a right to know what the courts are doing” regarding these “very critical issues”.

Speaking after the hearing, Kevin’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan explained: “Both sides want to see the day that visitation can resume. It is a question of working out details on how that can happen. Mr Federline looks forward to his children having their mom in their life.”

Britney hasn’t seen either two and a half year old Sean or 18 month old Jayden since the showdown at her Studio City home at the start of January which resulted in her first hospitalisation.

However the star does have a new legal counsel fighting for her case: divorce lawyer Stacy Phillips has replaced Sorrell Trope as her lead attorney in the ongoing custody dispute after the firm Trope and Trope requested to leave the case.
