Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony welcome their twins

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are celebrating the arrival of their twin babies after Jennifer gave birth in the early hours of this morning.

The couple’s first child, a baby girl, arrived at a hospital in Long Island, New York at 12:12am local time, followed by a baby boy at 12:23am. The girl weighed in at 5lbs 7oz and her brother, a little heavier at 6oz.

Jennifer’s manager confirmed the news of the birth, saying: “Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon.”

The children are Jennifer’s first off-spring while Marc has three other children from previous relationships.

Last month Jennifer’s dad confirmed that the star was expecting twins and her mum was spotted asking for identity bracelets for the pair, engraved with the names of “Emme” and “Max”.

Jennifer and Marc are said to have signed a $6million deal with People magazine for an exclusive photo shoot with the newborns.
