Cheryl TweedyDespite husband Ashley Cole telling friends that his relationship with Cheryl Cole was on the mend after the Brits, the Girls Aloud star has returned to Los Angeles and seemingly returned to using her maiden name.

After a holiday in Thailand, Cheryl spent last weekend in Los Angeles before returning to the UK for the Brit Awards on Wednesday. She is said to have had several talks with Ashley as well as attending the red carpet event before flying back out to California on Friday.

But when Cheryl arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday night, she was greeted by a chauffeur holding a sign for “Tweedy”, the name she abandoned on marrying the Chelsea and England star in July 2006.

A source close to the couple is quoted as saying: “She keeps going back and forth about what she thinks would be best but this is the strongest sign yet that she doesn’t want anything more to do with him.”
