Cate Blanchett at the Oscars 2008While Oscar night is the most important night of the year for most people in Hollywood and the entertainment world in general, Cate Blanchett revealed that one of the youngest attendees was less than interested in the whole fandango.

The I’m Not There star, who was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, told People magazine that while she felt “very pregnant” as she walked down the red carpet last night, her unborn baby wasn’t feeling the excitement of the evening: “He’s actually asleep - believe it or not, which bodes well.”

But things didn’t bode quite so well for fellow mum-to-be Jessica Alba.

The Fantastic Four star only posed briefly on the red carpet before an attendant shooed other celebrities out of the way to get Jessica into the building in a hurry.

A source explained: “She hadn’t intended to put in a long stint on the red carpet because she was worried if she stood around for ages she’d suffer for it later and that couldn’t be good for the baby. But all the rush was because the baby was pushing on her bladder and she really, really needed to wee.”
