After the PS I Love You star picked up her second Best Actress Oscar for Million Dollar Baby in 2005, she was spotted making a dash to the nearby Astro Burger for some food - but this year she packed her own supplies.

Being interviewed on the red carpet by Ryan Seacrest, she explained that normally “you’re starving” by the end of the evening and then opened her tiny clutch bag to reveal a stash of nuts.

She added: “I already ate the cake.”
