Angelina Jolie and Brad PittAfter unveiling her growing baby bump at the Film Independent’s Spirit Awards on Saturday night, Angelina Jolie surprisingly didn’t attend Sunday’s Academy Awards - but the ceremony’s host Jon Stewart claims she has a good excuse.

Jon announced a fake award in honour of the many mums-to-be at the event but while attendees Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Jessica Alba were nominated, Angelina bagged the fictional trophy.

The Daily Show presenter joked: “Obviously Angelina Jolie couldn’t be here - it’s hard to find 17 babysitters on Oscar night. I accept this baby on her behalf.”

Despite displaying her revealing figure, Angelina’s spokesperson has refused to confirm speculation that the actress is expecting a child. She is thought to be around four months pregnant with twins.
