While the star is sometimes rather dishevelled, her take on retro style has attracted admirers in the fashion world including Karl Lagerfeld and Victoria Beckham - and she’s said to have a meeting arranged for later this week to discuss the project with a High Street name.

A friend of the Grammy Award winner told the Sun: “Amy’s style has been copied by girls around the country and there’s a lot of money to be made. It’s a very distinctive look.”

“She wants to bring out a range of cosmetics and fashion products. There could be hairspray, head scarves, liquid eyeliner, perfume.”

“All the things that are distinctive of her look.”

An industry source added: “She has become a fashion icon despite not always looking too fresh.”

But Amy is currently accessorising her look in a way that not many fans may wish to follow: the ‘Back in Black’ singer was spotted with criss-crossing scratches up her left arm while on her way to visit husband Blake Fielder-Civil in prison on Monday.

A source told the Sun: “She was smoking cannabis and drinking heavily as soon as she left rehab. That has now increased.”

“Everyone who’s seen her in the last week or so has been really disturbed by the state she’s in. She’s getting back to her worst.”

“It was hoped her new album and fashion range would keep her focused but it hasn’t worked.”
