Coleen McLoughlinWayne Rooney has reportedly bought girlfriend Coleen McLoughlin a £140,000 diamond necklace for her 22nd birthday.

The organised Manchester United player is said to have bought the gift at exclusive jewellers Boodle & Dunthorne in Manchester last week in plenty of time for Coleen’s birthday at the start of April.

An onlooker told the People newspaper the diamond necklace features unusually pink stones: “It’s a really stunning and unique piece.”

“For a girl who seems to have everything and loves to lead the way in fashion, this is a great choice. It is bound to make her smile - so well chosen, Wayne.”

A source close to the couple added that despite his busy football career: “Wayne still likes to shop for the presents himself.”

“He doesn’t just want to send an assistant to buy them but puts a lot of thought into getting something he is sure Coleen will like.”
