Boy George claims lawful reason for imprisonment of man
Boy George yesterday pleaded not guilty to falsely imprisoning a man in his East London flat, because he had a “lawful reason” for holding the man.
Audun Carlsen claims he was invited back to the former Culture Club singer’s flat in April last year to have some photographs taken but then was chained to a wall.
In a 20 minute hearing yesterday, George only spoke to confirm his name, give his not guilty plea then to say he understood the terms of this bail. His barrister Adrian Waterman explained that George’s not guilty plea was specifically about the “false” part of the charge and that George didn’t deny the imprisonment.
The trial has now been set for November.
