Cheryl ColeAs well as moving house and living by specific rules, Cheryl Cole has reportedly ordered husband Ashley Cole to make a public apology over his infidelity.

Cheryl has flitted around between hiding in the UK, Thailand and Los Angeles since news broke of Ashley’s drunken one night stand in late January but flew back into the UK on Thursday to finally talk to Ashley seriously about their future.

A source told the newspaper: “Cheryl wants Ashley to do the decent thing, what he should have done from the start, apologise and not be a coward.”

“She wants him to admit his mistake and apologise for the heartbreak. It’s the only way forward.”

After the initial story of Ashley’s one night stand was printed, Cheryl pledged to stand by him - but then was thrown into turmoil when further stories emerged including claims he paid off the other woman when she thought she was pregnant.

The source added: “Cheryl is livid that Ashley allowed her to issue that statement immediately after the infidelity was revealed, praising his qualities as a husband. She feels like a fool. She feels betrayed and hurt.”

“Now she needs him to take the blame for what he has done. Maybe then they can draw a line under everything that has happened and move on.”

“But he doesn’t want to do it. He still insists it wasn’t his fault. He claims he can’t remember because he was too drunk.”

“Ashley believes people are trying to ruin him. But Cheryl wants him to hold his hands up and to admit he’s been caught out. She’s sick of him crying like a baby, as if nothing happened.”

“She can’t believe he won’t take responsibility for his actions. He is trying to sweep it under the carpet but Cheryl won’t stand that.”

“Ashley believed he would be able to get away with it and hide behind a denial. Now he is starting to believe that Cheryl is stronger than him - and she won’t back down. It’s time he acted like a man.”

“A public apology is the only way he can compensate for all the hurt he has caused her.”
