Britney SpearsBritney Spears will remain under her father’s control until at least the end of July according to a new court ruling.

Jamie Spears and estate lawyer Andrew Wallet were initially appointed co-conservators of the star for ten days during her hospitalisation at the start of February then a further ruling extended it until 10th March. However, now Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Gertz has extended the period until 31st July.

The conservators have complete control over Britney’s affairs and initially tightly restricted her movements and communications but they are said to have eased up of late as Britney has shown improvement and also helped arrange visitation sessions with her sons, Sean and Jayden.

A source close to Britney explained that while she resisted the control at first, she now sees that it’s for the best in the long run: “She is getting along well with her father and enjoying the closeness and support of her family.”

Legal sources also added that the conservators are open to ending their control order earlier than the end of July if Britney’s mental state continues to improve and stabilise.

Britney’s currently-restrained friend Sam Lufti is said to have instigated further legal proceedings to invalidate the conservatorship after his initial attempt, through New York lawyer Jon Eardley, failed last week.
