Heath Ledger’s family has said there is no doubt that his daughter Matilda will be provided for even though she is not mentioned in the late actor’s will.

Heath wrote the legal document in 2003 before meeting Michelle Williams on the set of Brokeback Mountain in late 2004 and the birth of their daughter in October 2005. Heath instead left his entire estate to his parents, sister Kate and half sisters Ashleigh and Olivia.

Heath’s dad Kim Ledger released a statement yesterday saying that the assets will be redistributed in light of Heath’s relationship with Michelle and the arrival of Matilda: “Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family … They will be taken care of and that’s how Heath would want it to be.”

The details of Heath’s will came to light after documents were filed at Manhattan Surrogate’s Court on Friday. According to the papers, Heath had less than $145,000 of New York assets, with the bulk of his fortune - including a trust fund and properties - being handled through his native Australia.
