Amelle BerrabahSugababes star Amelle Berrabah has said she’s “closer than ever” to boyfriend Freddie Fuller after he nearly died in an attack at Christmas.

Freddie nearly lost an arm and a leg during a machete attack leaving a club in December and Amelle told the News of the World recently that she didn’t think he’d pull through: “When Freddie was attacked, I had 30 seconds with him before he went into surgery.”

“I told him that he was going to be OK, but really I thought it was the last time I’d see him.”

“He was soaked in blood the only part of him that wasn’t red were the whites of his eyes.”

Even though Freddie has recovered, the experience has marked her: “All this bad stuff has made me a person I don’t want to be. I still feel like I’m in a dark hole. I feel paranoid and wary, but that’s not me.”

But she’s sure of one thing: “I want to be with Freddie for the rest of my life. After this awful experience, we’re closer than ever.”
