Amy Winehouse offered $1million to play at fashion gala
Amy Winehouse has reportedly been offered $1million to play at this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala in New York in May.
According to reports, gala host Giorgio Armani has asked celebrity organisers George Clooney and Julia Roberts to sign up the multiple Grammy Award winner for the event.
A source told the Mirror: “Amy was taken a back when she learned that Clooney and Roberts were after her.”
“She hasn’t really taken it in - and keeps saying that her life is getting more surreal by the second.”
“After the Grammys, it was expected Amy would be in demand. Clooney and Roberts’ reps have been phoning her offices and sending dozens of emails to convince her to take part. She’s seriously considering their generous offer.”
A source near Armani added: “Giorgio has made no secret to his friends that he would love to work with Amy. He sees this party as an ideal opportunity to sound her out about future projects together.”
The singer was reportedly paid $500,000 for a short performance as part of the Louis Vuitton show at Paris Fashion Week last month.
