David Beckham’s new tattooDavid Beckham unveiled a new addition to his tattoo collection at the weekend.

The LA Galaxy star pulled up his jersey to reveal the new ink on the side of his torso during the team’s charity game against FC Dallas on Sunday night.

The cursive Chinese characters are said to spell out a Chinese proverb, meaning: “Death and life have determined appointments. Riches and honour depend upon heaven.”

A source told the Sun that David got the artwork during the team’s recent trip to the Pacific rim: “The latest tattoo uses a completely different technique to all the others. It appears on his skin as if it has been brushed on. It is a really intricate process and unique to Hong Kong.”

“He has always wanted the Chinese brush-stroke effect. Victoria loves it.”

“There is more emphasis on the word life — which is in bold ink, with the word death slightly smaller.”

“The proverb has a strong meaning for David. He is really thoughtful about the tattoos he gets. He doesn’t just rush in.”

Amongst his large collection of tattoos, David also has Hindi, Latin and Hebrew proverbs and phrases about his person, many expressing his love for wife Victoria Beckham.
