Kerry KatonaKerry Katona has checked herself into the Priory clinic for treatment for depression after a string of allegations about her marriage to Mark Croft and her ongoing drug use.

A source close to the seven month pregnant former Atomic Kitten star told the Sun: “She’s been locked away in her bedroom for days just staring at the wall - severely emotional and depressed.”

“Everything she was reading in the press has built up.”

“She cannot stop crying. We are all worried for her and for the baby. She is in tatters.”

Kerry has stayed at the medical facility on three other occasions over the past four years: she checked in for help with depression after splitting from now ex-husband Brian McFadden in 2004, then for help with depression and alcohol problems in June 2005 and for anxiety after the break-in at her Cheshire home last year.

A spokesperson for Kerry added: “Kerry has not suffered a nervous breakdown.”

“As everyone knows, Kerry suffers from a bipolar disorder and she is just feeling a little down and depressed. She checked herself into the Priory to take five days off.”

Filming for her MTV reality TV show Crazy in Love has been suspended while she’s in the clinic but is expected to start again next week. She is due to give birth to her fourth child in May.
