Renee ZellwegerRenée Zellweger has said she leapt at the chance to work with long-time friend George Clooney in his new film Leatherheads.

Set in the 1920s, Renée plays a reporter in a love triangle with two American footballers in the comedy and she told In Style magazine recently that it was a “no brainer” when she was asked if she’d like a part: “I heard George was making a movie and I said, ‘When?’”

“If he had asked me to make peanut-butter sandwiches for the catering, I would have said, ‘Crunchy or smooth?’”

“It’s never less than great with him. And poor me, I had to watch guys throw a football all day … Talk about living the dream.”

The busy actress added that when people think about her constantly travelling from film set to film set they “sometimes ask ‘Don’t you miss your home?’ Well, no. I get go to work with George Clooney or Harry Connick.”
