Steve-OBam Margera has said he thought Jackass co-star Steve-O would be dead within weeks if he hadn’t decided to get help.

Steve-O, real name Stephen Glover, checked himself into Cedars Sinai Hospital earlier this month and after an initial evaluation, was placed on a 72 hour mental health hold. His stay was then extended by a further 14 days after doctors deemed he needed more long term treatment.

A hard partying lifestyle was a standard part of the Jackass way of life but Bam told Us Weekly this week that while Steve-O’s drug abuse “as funny at first, it just got to a point where it was sad.”

“I was like, ‘I give him a month, and he’ll be dead, guaranteed.’”

“He was doing every G*****n drug you can possibly do as soon as he’d wake up.”

He explained that a group of Steve-O’s friends including Johnny Knoxville “had to sit him down” and force him to seek help - and it seems to be going well: “He’s actually in high spirits from what I hear. He’s happy in there and is making jokes about himself like, ‘I officially made it to the loony bin!’ He’s a character.”

“He’s doing really good, which everybody is real glad about. He was really bonkers.”
