David Beckham: I was embarrassed about the underwear ad

David Beckham has revealed he was nervous about shooting his infamous Armani underwear ad campaign because he was worried about what his family would think.

The LA Galaxy star told The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night: “I was so nervous about doing that campaign because obviously I’ve done photo shoots before, but I’ve never done photo shoots in my underwear.”

“I was quite nervous because obviously I knew my wife and friends were going to see it. And my mum was going to see it.”

“When the photos came out, she was the first one to call me and say, ‘What are you doing?’ I had to try and explain it to her and it didn’t go down that well.”

“Luckily I’ve not been in the car with her when we drove past one of the billboards.”

Wife Victoria Beckham first saw one of the billboards while in Italy with the Spice Girls and said she was “proud to see his penis 25ft tall“.
