Anna FrielAnna Friel has revealed she loves how she looks now she’s adopted the full-on high-maintenance Hollywood glamour look.

The former Brookside star is currently the leading lady in wonderfully cute US series Pushing Daisies but the high profile role has caused her to have to play a closer attention to her beauty routine.

She told Grazia magazine recently: “I’m a lot better looking than I was a year ago.”

“I’m toned because I’ve got a trainer and it’s very easy to go out running when it’s constantly sunny and you don’t look outside your window and think: ‘Damn, it’s raining. There’s no way I’m going out in that’.”

“And now, if I need to blitz my fitness, my miracle worker is a rowing machine. I rent one to use at home when I want to get in shape quickly - the best ones are those that use real water.”

“If you use one every day for just one week you’ll feel totally in shape - it’s a really fun way to burn calories and keep fit.”

“I also do Pilates, I have my ‘forever green’ juice which tastes disgusting but makes you feel amazing.”

“I have regular facials at Kay Saracen, where Demi Moore goes, I have manicures and I look at how these women take care of themselves to look their best.”

“I’ve had [my teeth] whitened [too]. When I first started filming Pushing Daisies, my agent and the producer told me I needed to have my teeth whitened. I was actually quite offended. I’m very good at brushing them. So I refused. Everyone just shrugged and told me they’d do a test film. When I saw it, I couldn’t believe what I looked like on the screen. I’m not kidding, compared to everyone else my teeth looked green. I was horribly embarrassed.”

She admitted she also wears eyelash extensions: “The key thing is just to get them extended at the corners so it doesn’t look fake, it looks natural and way more flattering.”

“Honestly, this is what LA does for you! You learn how to make the best of yourself - and it works. In England, people think you’re dead vain if you do more than shave your legs.”
