Cheryl ColeAshley Cole has reportedly asked Cheryl Cole to marry him again to put their marriage troubles behind them.

The Chelsea and England football star is said to have dropped onto one knee to make the proposal at their Surrey mansion last week and suggested the vow renewal could take place this summer, as the couple celebrate their second anniversary. In contrast to that lavish £1million event though, Ashley has proposed a simple, low-key ceremony for just a small gathering of close friends and family.

Girls Aloud star Cheryl is said to have asked for a few days to think it over but a source close to the couple told the People newspaper: “She won’t be able to turn down Ashley’s request.”

“These claims about what he’s done have humiliated her .. [but] Cheryl is still besotted with him.”

“She’s a strong girl and is determined this will be the making of her.”

Cheryl left their marital home and went into hiding for a month after it was revealed that Ashley had cheated on her after a drunken night out. She is said to have gone back to him at the end of February.
