Tina O'BrienFormer Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien is 12 weeks pregnant with co-star boyfriend Ryan Thomas’ child.

Tina, who played Sarah-Louise Platt in the soap until December, is said to be “thrilled and excited” about the baby, due in the autumn.

A source told the Sun: “The baby wasn’t planned, but now the news has sunk in they couldn’t be happier.”

The couple are said to have been on the verge of breaking-up earlier in the year as 24 year old Tina planned to leave their life together in Manchester to pursue acting opportunities in London but after they found out about the baby, she decided to stay in Manchester and is even said to be considering a return to Corrie.

The source continued: “She has already had to turn down a couple of jobs because they wanted her to do action shots and she didn’t want to risk hurting the baby.”

“It may not be the best timing in terms of her career, but she loves Ryan and they know they can make this work.”

A spokesperson for the ITV1 soap confirmed the news this weekend, saying that Tina & Ryan “are absolutely delighted at the happy news.”
